The Center for Metropolitan Studies (CEM) is an interinstitutional research center headquartered at the University of São Paulo (USP) and the Cebrap (Brazilian Center of Planning and Analysis).
The selection will be a two-stage process. In the first stage, the candidate’s curriculum vitae will be analyzed and their research project scrutinized (see model at http://www.fapesp.br/materia.
The candidate’s profile and academic background will be borne in mind as much as the scientific quality of the presented research proposal. The relevance of the candidate’s research proposal to CEM main lines of research will be of fundamental importance. Candidates shortlisted from the first stage will be called for an interview with the Selection Committee. The final number of candidates selected will depend upon the merits of the proposal and on the performance in the interview.
Proposals must be received by May 12th, 2014 (whether posted or sent via internet). The results of the first selection stage will be made known by May 26th, 2014, when successful candidates will be announced. The appointment for the interviews will be scheduled for June 2nd, 2014, to be held in one the CEM headquarters in São Paulo.
The fellowship for the successful candidates is already available and depend on the completion of the scholarship concession process by the research-funding agency, in this case FAPESP.
