The GESIS Leibniz Institute in Germany is calling for applications for a DFG research fellowship for up to 12 months at GESIS in Mannheim. We are looking for an individual who is interested in pursuing a research project in the Survey Programs Team for up to 12 months (a shorter period can be negotiated). The candidate can choose their own project to work on while resident at GESIS but it should broadly match the interests of the Survey Program Team. Candidates who research comparative political behavior using surveys, especially using data from the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (CSES – see: www.cses.org) project or who have an interest in survey methodology more broadly are particularly encouraged to apply.
To apply, the candidate must have completed his or her PhD in the last two years, must not hold German citizenship nor have resided in Germany for more than six months. No knowledge of the German language is required for this position. The application procedure is relatively simple and comprises the following:
– 3 page research proposal detailing the project you would pursue while at GESIS and detailing how it fits with the GESIS Survey Team.
– Curriculum Vitae and Summary of PhD research.
The salary (approximately 2,000 Euro per month) is sufficient to cover the costs of living in Mannheim for most post-doctoral researchers. The deadline for applications is 9 March 2016.
