Please, find below some general suggestions for your analysis and creativity, but feel free to suggest other topics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br> \u2022 The relevant and alternative \u2018world orders\u2019 (in analytical and normative terms) that describe and explain the international system since the end of the Cold War.<br> \u2022 The role of regions and regional studies in shaping alternative orders, multiple voices, and geographic and geopolitical configurations.<br> \u2022 Problematizing \u2018the international\u2019: What do we mean by international studies, in juxtaposition to international relations?<br> \u2022 Thinking IR and international studies beyond the Westphalian state.<br> \u2022 Voices from the South and alternative voices from the North regarding new world orders.<br> \u2022 The relevance of post-colonial studies in making sense of the world.<br> \u2022 International studies beyond the discipline of IR.<br> \u2022 The complex relationships between borders, identities, and different types of orders.<br> \u2022 Human flows and displacement in the contemporary world: refugees, migration, human trafficking and smuggling.<br> \u2022 Promoting inclusiveness and the role of minorities within and across states.<br> \u2022 Power, authority, legitimacy and contestations of orders.<br> \u2022 The relevance of peaceful change in international relations.<br> \u2022 The diffusion of power away from the state in different directions.<br> \u2022 Civic-military relations and their relevance in the twenty-first century.<br> \u2022 Peace and war in the twenty-first century.<br> \u2022 The relevance of indigenous people, ethnic conflicts, and civil wars.<br> \u2022 Empowering humanity: from local to global justice.<br> \u2022 Moral issues in international studies: distributive justice, human rights, and just war.<br> \u2022 Humanitarian intervention and peace missions in the 21st century.<br> \u2022 Globalization and global governance.<br> \u2022 The changing dynamics of world politics: globalization, nationalism, and regionalism.<br> \u2022 Multilateralism and multiple Gs: G-7, G-8, G-20, G-77, G-120?<br> \u2022 The reform of international institutions and the prospects for global governance.<br> \u2022 Global economic governance and development cooperation.<br> \u2022 The relevance of trade and investment policies in the age of globalization.<br> \u2022 Globalization, development, and global inequalities.<br> \u2022 The rise of populism around the world and the challenges to the international liberal order.<br> \u2022 Regional orders and world politics: between disciplinary and area studies approaches.<br> \u2022 International Relations of Latin America, including -Latin American relations with major powers.<br> \u2022 The lingering relevance of dependency and development in Latin America, and beyond.<br> \u2022 Science, technology and international studies: coping with Artificial Intelligence<br> and biotechnology.<br> \u2022 The production of knowledge and its impact upon power, multiple voices, and<br> alternative orders.<br> \u2022 Art, aesthetics, and popular culture and international relations.<br> \u2022 Dynamics of (de)securitization and (de) politicization in global politics: new<br> threats and dangers to individuals and orders.<br> \u2022 Memory, trauma, emotions and affect in transforming world orders.<br> \u2022 Micropolitics, individuals, and their impact on global politics.<br> \u2022 Cities, urban life, and local neighbourhoods in constructing alternative world orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Call for Sections<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We invite participants to submit section proposals. The main goal of sections is to encourage scholarly discussions and potentially develop networks and projects around a common theme. While the section proposals may address the conference themes, proposals for sections on other themes are also welcome. The responsibilities of (a) section chair\/s include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br> \u2022 Proposing a section, populating some preliminary panels at the proposal stage, ensuring that the section has a proper gender distribution as well as diversity in terms of geographic origin, and maintaining a balance among graduate students, and junior and established scholars.<br> \u2022 Composing the rest of the section\u2019s program by selecting the papers submitted at the subsequent call for papers.<br> \u2022 Appointing session chairs and discussants (in the case of paper panels).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Proposals for sections must include<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Full name, email and institutional affiliation of the proposed section chair\/s<br> (maximum two chairs per section).<\/li><li>Title of the proposed section.<\/li><li>Abstract of its theme(s) and rationale(s), not exceeding 250 words.<\/li><li>Selection of the language(s) to be used in the sessions (English, Spanish or Portuguese).<\/li><li>The number of sessions envisaged for the section proposal, ranging from three to nine (including roundtables and\/or paper panels).<\/li><li>Up to five keywords that describe the content of the proposal.<\/li><li>An initial indication of the content of possible sessions, with tentative titles or\/and themes to be covered.<\/li><li>In a single file to be attached (pdf, doc, docx), include a short bio of section chair\/s (maximum two chairs per section), considering national organization with WISC membership (if relevant).              <strong><em>Deadline: 15 October<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>More info in the following documents attached below<\/em><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-file\"><a href=\"https:\/\/alacip.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WISC-topics.pdf\">WISC-topics<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/alacip.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WISC-topics.pdf\" class=\"wp-block-file__button\" download>Descarga<\/a><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-file\"><a href=\"https:\/\/alacip.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WISC-Exploratory-Research-Workshops.pdf\">WISC-Exploratory-Research-Workshops<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/alacip.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WISC-Exploratory-Research-Workshops.pdf\" class=\"wp-block-file__button\" download>Descarga<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We invite proposals on a broad set of possible subjects that reflect the diversity and pluralism of our discipline.
