Organization: This event is organized by Maarten Voors (Wageningen University, EGAP Trainings Director) and Andrés Moya (Universidad de los Andes). In addition, Jake Bowers (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, EGAP Methods Director), Natalia Garbiras Díaz (University of California, Berkeley), and other EGAP members will participate as workshop instructors.Scholarships: Accepted applicants will be contacted to coordinate travel details and request additional information. The workshop’s organizers will cover the financial costs of: airfare to and from the workshop location, lodging (for attendees from outside Bogotá), breakfast/lunch/snacks, and a celebratory dinner the last night. Participants are responsible for other dinners, visa arrangements, and incidentals.
: The workshop is designed for principal investigators–i.e. professors, post-doctoral fellows, PhD students, and NGO/government agency evaluators who implement experimental research projects on programs related to institutions, governance, and development. The workshop is limited to applicants based (anywhere) in Latin America. Applicants must have training in social sciences, and should have basic knowledge of statistics and/or econometrics. Prior familiarity with statistical sofware is a plus, but not a requirement. Finally, as the sessions will be conducted in English, applicants must have a professional command of the language (reading and speaking). In order to maintain a productive atmosphere, the meeting will have a maximum of 15 participants.
