PHD PROGRAM IN ECONOMICS – Academic Year 2019-2020 The Sant’Anna-IUSS Doctoral Program in Economics is a 4-year (full scholarship) program designed for highly qualified and motivated students who wish to acquire the research and analytical skills of the international scientific community in economics. The Program is jointly offered by the Institute of Economics of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa and by IUSS-Pavia, in close cooperation also with the UCA-University of Cote d’Azur (Nice, France). Students are offered one year and a half of intensive course-work (part of which hosted at UCA) by an international faculty. The training covers most traditional domains of economic analysis, and also offers the unique opportunity to study and get involved in fields usually neglected in traditional PhD Courses such as evolutionary perspectives on economic change, firm-industry dynamics, economics of innovation, agent-based computational economics, economic networks and complexity, economic history and history of economic thought, and a broad range of quantitative tools for the study of big-data and economic dynamics. In addition to the training activities, Ph.D. students actively participate to a vivid research environment, where they are involved in various ongoing research activities (seminars, conferences, research projects). The PhD Program is also part of an international network of institutions and scholars, supporting exchanges of research students and faculty.Four positions with 4-years scholarship are offered this year.
