The Political Science Department, School of Social Sciences at Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá, Colombia, invites applications for three full-time faculty positions, beginning in January 2017 or July 2017, in the area of International Relations (2) or Political Theory (1).

Responsibilities

The selected candidates are expected to conduct teaching activities in their area of expertise at the undergraduate and graduate levels, develop research projects and seek out external funding in order to conduct them, and participate in the activities and institutional development of the Department and the University. Academic Requirements

Applications are welcome from candidates holding a Ph.D. in Political Science or International Studies by the time of the appointment, and whose scholarly activity is focused on the area of International Relations or Political Theory.

Evidence of publications and participation in research projects is required, while previous teaching experience is desirable. Spanish skills are required, and candidates are expected to become proficient within a reasonable period of time.

Position

The Department is interested in hiring three candidates in the categories of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The category and salary will be assigned according to the candidate’s curriculum vitae.

  1. Curriculum vitae.
  2. Up to two samples of publications or unpublished work.
  3. Two letters of recommendation (sent directly by referees).
  4. A five-page statement of purpose including details about the candidate’s academic career, research agenda, approach to teaching, and sub-areas of expertise within the area of International Relations, or Political Theory.
  5. A sample syllabus for a course at the undergraduate or graduate levels. Information on the Political Science
